U. S. Army in Reykjavik requested that North Star go to Iceland to transport personnel and meteorological equipment to Angmagssalik; Reykjavik informed that ice conditions on East Coast made such voyage impracticable this year.

Lake Ormoc departed Angmagssalik for Ivigtut. Northland in Prince Christian Sound awaiting rendezvous with Lake Ormoc.Northland was unable to contact Lake Ormoc by radio, but Northland's plane found Lake Ormoc and dropped instructions.
