"The small 1,392 ton Norwegian collier Dagney I (Captain Olaf Torkelsen) for instance was loading coal in Advent Bay in May 1941 [?] when HMS Nigeria and the Polish destroyer Garland arrived. The vessel loaded 2,043 tons of coal and was about to sail for Norway. She was ordered to sail for the United Kingdom. She was found by a British aircraft carrier on 31 July and ordered to Thorshaven" - (Arctic Interlude by Harry C. Hutson) |
